Let’s get moving…
NMLS id:

While buying a new home is exciting, packing and moving is never fun! If you are downsizing after years of accumulating, it can be particularly daunting-what to do with all that stuff?! Wouldn’t it be great if there was a service that could help with that..?

Transition Specialists or Move Managers are a thing! Much of the industry is targeted to seniors who may be too infirm or not have family nearby to help with the sorting and packing. However, for many of us with overfull lives, outsourcing part or all of a move may be the answer to getting us to move in the first place!

Among the things a Transition Specialist can help with are:

-Identify items to sell, donate or toss

-Actually do the selling, donating and tossing!

-Catalogue items for storage or later disbursement to family members

-Arrange for movers

-Inventory and pack all items

-Supervise move, furniture placement, un-packing, home set-up

-Facilitate all aspects of move for senior family members

There are two organizations that provide a certification process, the National Association of Senior Move Managers and the Certified Relocation & Transition Specialists and several local companies that specialize in this type of work. If you anticipate moving in the future, now may be the time to schedule a consultation, and get pre-approved, too!
